Oklahoma’s Workers Compensation System: A Threat to Oklahoma Job Creators

Did you know that Oklahoma’s Workers’ Compensation system ranks as one of the worst in the country?

Or that 84% of Oklahoma businesses rate our state’s workers’ compensation as poor or fair, according to a recent survey conducted by Governor Fallin?

One thing is clear:  Oklahoma’s broken, state-run workers’ comp system is a burden for Oklahoma job creators.

It’s time to give our employers a free-market alternative to this broken system that will protect workers and allow our businesses to grow and succeed.

That’s why we support HB 2155 — pending legislation that would provide this alternative system to protect Oklahoma workers while freeing businesses from the burden of excessive government regulation.

Workers, doctors, and employers all support HB 2155 — but trial lawyers are lobbying hard to prevent real reform.

Right now, the trial lawyers are trying to convince state legislators to leave the current system alone because they profit from the adversarial and state-run workers compensation system. These trial attorneys are more concerned with making money than helping injured workers get healthy again and allowing Oklahoma businesses to be competitive.
